My Story

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

My name is Kat. I love growing beautiful, scent-filled flowers that capture the season and seeing the delight and joy that they bring to people. I grow in the walled garden and neighbouring field of our home at Eathorne Manor.

Precious and Wild grew from a long-held pull towards the land, seasonality, and the quiet beauty of growing things slowly.

The name comes from Mary Oliver’s question: “What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” The flowers are my answer.

My blooms are grown with care for the soil, for wildlife, and for the people who welcome them into their lives. This is small-scale, thoughtful work shaped by attention to detail.

Creating with flowers brings me huge joy. I believe that connection to the soil, the wild creatures that live alongside us and the beautiful bounty of blossoms and blooms in creation have so much to teach us. I think there is nothing more calming and enriching for our souls than bringing armfuls of these transient treasure into our homes and lives. I would love to fill your life’s wild and precious moments with flowers and talk through the dreams you have for them, do get in touch,

I have always obsessively grown and arranged flowers since I was first given a packet of wildflower seeds on my 7th birthday.

I worked for many years as a Vet, seeing it as the only way to combine my love of the outdoors with a predictable career. I now provide an end of life home visit service for pets in Cornwall alongside my growing and floristry. It is important but heavy work and so I take it to the place I have always gone. To my garden. Where the unfurling of a bud that was closed yesterday fills me with delight and the sparkle of sunlight on newly polished leaves talks to me of the joy and beauty that is found in a life lived close to nature.
