My Story

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

My name is Kat. I grow beautiful, scent-filled flowers from the walled garden and neighbouring field of our home at Eathorne Manor in Cornwall. Flowers that capture the season and bring a quiet sense of joy to the people who gather them into their lives.

A basket filled with fresh, green tulips with closed buds, resting outdoors with green foliage in the background.

Precious and Wild grew from a long-held pull towards the land, seasonality, and the quiet beauty of growing things slowly.

The Meaning Behind the Name

The name comes from Mary Oliver’s question: “What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” The flowers are my answer.

Grown with care

My blooms are grown with care; for the soil, for wildlife, and for the people who welcome them into their homes and celebrations.

This is small-scale, thoughtful work, shaped by attention to detail and a deep respect for the seasons.

I am drawn to flowers that feel natural and full of life; soft, slightly wild, and gathered at their best.

A little of my story

I have always grown and arranged flowers, ever since I was given a packet of wildflower seeds on my 7th birthday.

Growing became something instinctive, then something quietly essential.

Before this, I worked for many years as a vet, drawn to the outdoors and the care of living things. I still provide end-of-life care for pets in Cornwall. Work that is deeply important, but often heavy.

And so I return to the garden. To the place I have always gone. Where the unfurling of a bud that was closed the day before brings a quiet sense of delight. Where sunlight on newly opened leaves reminds me of the beauty and lightness that still exists, even alongside more difficult moments.

Why this matters

I understand that the moments you are planning for; weddings, gatherings, farewells, carry meaning.

Many people come to me feeling unsure of where to begin, wanting their flowers to feel right but not knowing how to get there. You don’t need to have everything figured out.

My role is to guide you gently through the process, to listen carefully, to understand what matters to you, and to create something that feels natural, personal, and completely your own.

Creating with flowers brings me a deep sense of joy. There is something quietly grounding about working with the seasons, the soil, and the wild creatures that live alongside us.

I believe that bringing flowers into our lives, even briefly, reconnects us to something essential. Something calm, generous, and alive. I would love to fill your life’s wild and precious moments with flowers, and to hear about the ideas you have for them,

Tell me about your plans,

Kat x
