Festive Mantlepiece Garland, 10th December, 11-3pm, Trebah Garden

£108.00

Join us at Trebah Garden for a relaxed festive workshop learning how to create a natural garland for your mantelpiece with local flower grower and florist Kat from Precious & Wild.

Using fragrant evergreen foliage, berries, seed heads, cones and dried flowers, you’ll build a generous winter garland to take home and enjoy throughout the Christmas season.

Kat will begin with a clear demonstration before guiding you through the process step by step, with one-to-one help whenever you need it. You’ll learn how to create a strong, reusable base, layer different evergreens for texture and movement, and shape your garland so that it sits beautifully across a mantelpiece, shelf or table.

There will be a rich selection of winter foliage to choose from, dried citrus and pinecones and seed heads grown just down the road in the Precious & Wild Walled Garden at Eathorne. You can keep your garland simple and natural or add extra detail and texture to add interest

It’s a chance to spend a few hours slowing down, getting creative and enjoying the textures and fragrance of the winter garden before Christmas gets into full swing.

A homemade lunch of flan and seasonal salads will be provided, giving you time to pause, chat and enjoy the setting before finishing your garland.

All materials are provided. The foliage, flowers and seed heads have been grown sustainably and to organic principles, allowing you to bring a little piece of the Cornish landscape into your home for Christmas.

Your finished garland can be styled across a mantelpiece, wound along a table as a runner, or used to dress a staircase for the festive season.

Scissors and secateurs are provided but you may wish to bring your own. You may also wish to bring a protective apron and gardening gloves
